$500 Gas Rebate Program Helps Business Build Traffic
Businesses looking to increase sales this summer are giving $500 in free gas to customers or prospects for only a $25 investment. investment.
Dallas, Texas (PRWeb) August 9, 2008 – Getting traffic into a retail store this summer has been challenging for many businesses.
As the price of gasoline nears $4 a gallon, Mike Brennan of Harry’s Furniture, was facing an uphill battle just to get prospects into his Saline, Michigan showroom.
“With the Michigan economy already on the skids, as gas prices went up we saw our prospects dwindle,” he said. “We couldn’t move the store to another part of the country, so we needed to come up with some way to get people back in the showroom.”
That’s when he hit on the idea of giving his customers free gas with a furniture purchase. He contacted Bagwell Promotions (http://www.bagwellpromotions.com) , a company that offers a gas loyalty program that includes rebates for up to $500 in gasoline. For $25 he purchased “gas certificates” that allow his customers to receive up to $500 in rebates on their gasoline purchases.
A lot of retail establishments purchase gas cards at face value to give their customers. However, with the rebate certificates the up-front cost to the merchant is significantly lower.
According to Brennan, “We tried several other promotions – reduced prices on furniture, extended payments -- but nothing seems to work like the free gas.”
John F. Bagwell, President of Bagwell Promotions, claims “This is shaping up to be one of our most successful promotions yet for businesses.”
In addition to Harry’s Furniture store, Bagwell has a credit union that is giving away the certificates to everyone that takes out a car loan, a restaurant that gives certificates to frequent customers and a newspaper that is offering the rebates to new subscribers.
Bagwell thinks the program can work for almost any business that needs retail traffic.
Bagwell admits “The program almost sounds too good to be true.” He adds, “Every day I have people call me and ask how we can offer such a deal.”
The program is actually a rebate and loyalty program. There are some restrictions to the program. Details, along with ordering information, are available at http://www.bagwellpromotions.com/gasrebatepromo/ or by calling 1-866-281-8830.
The program can also be used for business-to-business promotions. Some companies will offer the gas rebate certificates to people who come by their trade show booth, or to people who set an appointment with a salesperson.
“We’ve even had companies that wanted to purchase the certificates to give to their employees to help defray their cost of getting to work,” adds Bagwell.
